• We currently have 14 musicians using our containers as private practice studios and storage spaces.

• Drummers have their own personal studios, away from distractions and without worrying about disturbing others.

• Saxophonists, keyboard players, vocalists and songwriters have their own space and can simply get on with what they do.

Our 6m containers are thermally insulated and supplied with 240V power. They can also be acoustically treated with sound-absorbing panels attached to the internal walls. Where required, the original container doors can be screened by fitting an internal partition wall and conventional entrance door.

Boxed Up is based on an industrial estate, away from residential properties, so musicians have far more freedom to practise without worrying about disturbing neighbours.

Boxed Up Studios is developing a community of musicians, artists and other creative people in a welcoming, secure and affordable environment. It is a place to have your own space, work independently and meet other people with similar creative interests.

The name Boxed Up has another meaning for us. Feeling “boxed up” can describe being frustrated, constrained or unable to move forward. Music and art provide a way to break out of that box – to create, experiment and express yourself.
